Writing the Story of Your Life

Thoughts are things. They exist as energy within us, around us, and are projected from us into the world. With the right amount of purposeful attention, intention and belief, our thoughts become our physical reality. This is manifestation in a nutshell.

But what if I told you there is a tool that allows you to take a more proactive role in the manifestation process? A tool that helps anchor your thoughts in the physical plane? One that can help transition your thoughts from pure energy to reality?

That tool is writing.

About half of you screamed for joy and the other half cried in pain. I suppose if someone told me math was a great tool for manifestation, I’d cry too. But don’t worry if writing isn’t your forte: The Universe isn’t going to check your grammar or mark you down for sloppy sentence structure.

I’ve been writing all my life and I’ve found that the very act of putting a thought on paper provides a segue for your imagination to enter the world of physical reality.

When you write, you are forced to imagine stories in your head, often with great detail. You are taking those details and giving birth to them in reality by writing them down.

It’s almost as if the paper – or computer – is the soil and you’re planting the seeds of your reality in the soil through writing.

Writing has been a lifelong passion of mine. I’ve been doing it since I was a kid in some form or other and I eventually carved out a career in writing. In my experience, I find it’s creative writing — where you unleash your imagination and let it run free — that provides you with the best possibilities for manifestation.

Yes, I believe journaling also provides an important function: It’s great for getting your thoughts on paper and can be very therapeutic. But it’s very cerebral and analytical. It helps you make sense of stuff. However, when you write about your emotions, you’re talking about them and rationalizing them. It’s not so much about creation as it is expressing what’s on your mind.

Creative story telling gives you the opportunity to LIVE and EXPERIENCE another reality, not just talk about it.

Remember: Everything you are experiencing NOW is a result of a process of undivided attention and belief that you actively participated in BEFORE. Writing provides streamlined, deliberate active participation in the manifestation process. The world is literally at your fingertips.

I suggest when writing creatively to not hold back or to be practical. The sky is the limit with your imagination. The Universe recognizes what part of your story resonates with you on the soul level by what brings you the most joy. Joy resonates on an incredibly high frequency. If it brings you great joy to write about being able to fly, by all means put that in your story. Just don’t expect to sprout a pair of wings. Instead, expect for your spirit to soar to new and exciting heights.

Runners talk about entering a zone where they no longer feel connected to their bodies. After a certain amount of strenuous exercise, endorphin is released causing a “runner’s high” that creates a feeling of euphoria. Well, writers hit the same high when they connect deeply to what they are writing. Once you enter the world where your imagination takes over, you are transported to your happy place. Suddenly, with little to no effort, a world shoots out of your fingers and comes to life on paper or a computer screen. The “virtual experience” of writing gives those beliefs a stronger foothold in what your brain perceives to be reality, and depending on how emotionally invested you are in the words you write, they can potentially morph into the physical plane.

But remember, only the things that are in line with your soul’s purpose for this lifetime will take root. Not to mention the Universe doesn’t operate in specifics: It’s very rare that you’ll get exactly what you want, when and where you want it. Instead, it’s more likely that the “root of your desire” will manifest in a scenario designed by the benevolent Universe with your best interest – and everyone else’s (after all, you don’t exist in a vacuum) – in mind. Regardless, you just have to have patience, belief in the process, and trust in the wisdom of the Universe.

On a final note, if you’re a creative writer, I’d love to hear about any experiences you’ve had where something you’ve written about has manifested either literally or figuratively. I’ve had this happen several times myself, in some rather bizarre ways.

I have had some good things happen, I won a trip to Mexico, after about two years that I had written down who I would win it from. It’s kind of a long very interesting story, all the things I had asked for came true, not always in a easy way, but it was worth it. I was going to write a short book about it, I lost my notes, so I got discoraged. Maybe I will try without the notes.

That is fascinating! Yes, after results like that I’d definitely write a book about it. I know I would love to read it!
