Meditating is great. Yoga is great. Balancing your chakras is great. Collecting enough crystals to power a small city is great. All of it is namas-tasty.
But it’s not for everybody.
Frankly, it’s all a turn off for some: They regard it as hippie-dippy, new age freakery. So does that mean the wires connecting their brains to their inner consciousness are shorted out? Not at all.
The truth is you don’t have to experience an epiphany of enlightenment or find a guru in order to embark on a spiritual path. That’s because your very existence is an act of spirituality. The very act of being a human is a spiritual choice. That’s why I believe that the first step in getting in touch with your spiritual path is to recognize that the human path IS a spiritual path.
Basically, you’re a spirit who chose to come to the Earth school in order to learn and evolve.
This very knowledge can potentially free you from chains of illusion because that’s what Earth-bound reality is: An illusion set up as a playground (and sometimes as a minefield) for our souls to learn and evolve. How liberating is that? Think about it: The stuff you inherently know is bullshit technically is. You’ve just been suffering from a bad case of Earth school amnesia.
Life becomes far less scary – and more exhilarating and fun – when you recognize it as an opportunity to put your unique gifts to use as a way to serve humanity and to expand the collective consciousness. How you accomplish this is your free will. IF you accomplish this is your free will. There is no pass or fail. Life is eternal and you’ll eventually get it. This has been happening since the beginning of time, and that’s pretty much how long you’ve been a part of it.
However, as the saying goes, knowledge is power.
It’s when you’re detached from recognizing you’re a soul on a mission that you sweat the small stuff and loose sight of the big picture. The ego, whose job is to navigate your humanness through the journey of life, feels scared and powerless when it detaches from the soul, and as an act of self-preservation it starts putting limits on the whole life experience. The ego is such a neurotic buzz kill. It will tell you what’s possible and not possible based on its limited knowledge of how the Universe works. But your soul understands. It’s your connection to the Universe and it won’t let you fail. Your soul talks your ego off the ledge on a daily basis.
So don’t think that you need to be someone you’re not in order to be on a spiritual path. You’ve been on one all along. However, I can guarantee that once you recognize that life is your soul taking a ride on the human roller coaster, you’ll view the concept of “spirituality” in a whole different light.
